Airstream

Today, 6 months and 12 days after I broke my arm, I have been declared HEALED.  My range of motion will continue to improve as long as I keep stretching it daily.

For the past two months or so, I've been having pain in my other shoulder.  Lately it has been severe enough to make me ugly cuss and getting worse by the day.  The pain, not the language.

So at my 6 month appointment today, I had an X-ray on that arm as well as the broken one.  My doctor told me I had an impinged something or other and that it would not get better without a shot.  Or surgery.  Or immobilization for at least 6 months.  I am not a baby and regular shots don't bother me but I've heard horror stories about painful cortisone injections and while waiting for the doctor to reappear, I made the mistake of peeking over the top of the sharps container on the wall only to see discarded needles the size of shish kabob skewers.

After much coaxing and Mark Holt promising to buy me an electric handheld sander this very afternoon if I'd do it, I decided to be brave and told them I'd come back next week, good and wine infused and they could shoot away.  But nope, they made me do it right then and there.

I clenched my jaw and squeezed my eyes tight while waiting for them to strap me to a gurney and I begged and begged with all my might for the nice P.A. lady to give me extra swabs of that freezy stuff before the needle and by the time she said, "I'm done", I decided I needed a bigger prize than an electric sander.

I'm thinking Airstream.  They're long and sleek and about the same size of the needle that hopefully gets me un-impinged...
