Bombay Heartbreaker
January got here mighty quick! One of the things I'm hoping to do in 2022 is grow my line of pieces made from discarded bottles. I've had a bit of trouble getting glass since Covid and while things are mostly back on track now, I have to admit there's something fascinating about using glass that was purchased for what was inside it.
One of the prettiest color bottles I've ever seen houses Bombay Sapphire Gin. I've used this in the past to make disc beads and it behaves very nicely in the flame. Because discs are so thin, the color isn't saturated and I decided to make some beads that were thicker and irregular in shape. I chose to etch some of the beads for contrast.
I absolutely love how this turned out.
Now I just need to find a few friends who drink this Gin and make them promise they'll drink more and save the bottle for me!!!
