Bradley's Fun Day

Tallahassee is home to one of the most charming, old timey county stores in the South.  Situated 12 or so miles away from the city, Bradley's Country Store was built in 1927 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places back in 1984.  Follow the link at the end of this post.  Step back in time.  Be warned though, you'll find yourself craving sausage and grits!

Bradley's Fun Day is a show that definitely lives up to is name.  No matter what, it's going to be fun.  I've been doing this show for many years now.  In fact, Bradley's was the very first show I ever did.

Back in the day, I did mosaic art work.  I had very little inventory and my work was just so-so.  I mean, I had just gotten started and was still learning my craft.  Still, a friend and I decided to try and get a booth there at the last minute, despite not having a tent or any prior knowledge on how to actually DO a show.  So there we were with a 10 x 14 space with two tables and a couple of chairs.  She with her painted wares and me with my mosaic tiles and wall art.  When I got home, I counted $1,250.00 and I knew I was hooked.

I worked hard the following year and by the time the next Bradley's Fun Day came around, I was proudly set up under a brand new EZ-UP white tent with all manor of ways to display my new and improved line of mosaics.  I even had fancy business cards this time around!  That night, I cried all the way home with less than $700 in my pocket.

You just never know...

Anyway, one thing you can count on at Bradley's is there will be shoppers long before it opens and it will be super crowded.  The weekend before Thanksgiving, many folks swear it doens't feel like the holidays until they're at Bradley's.

It's always a good show for me, well, except for the 2nd year I was there, LOL.

Check out their website.  Make plans to go next year.  Get yourself some sausage and have your own FUN DAY!
