I See You

On my body this morning was a pair of dark gray leggings,  wool knee high socks and fake fur lined boots,  one thermal undershirt,  one light v-neck sweater,  one puffy sleeveless vest, one large chunky winter scarf, my big long wool coat, a neck wrap, a face mask and my winter hat with the giant pom pom on top.

Mark asked  "Where are you under there?   I can't see you".

The wind chill was -21 when I walked the 2.5 blocks to Mayo.   Had my upper legs and below my elbows not been cold,  I may have suffered heatstroke right there in the the screening line.

I was starting to cool down when I reached the Intensive Care Unit and got my visitors badge for the day.

He wasn't in his bed and I held my breath for a second.  They had him sitting up in chair.

I see you now.

A bit more pain today but a lot more Nicholas.   The fog has lifted and his voice is stronger.

He'll be in the ICU until later today.

They say he's doing exceptionally well,  called him a rock star and seem to really appreciate his nature.   He thanks everyone for the slightest thing they do for him,  even if it's uncomfortable or causes pain.   That's because he has such a good heart.  And now it's an even better one.
