I was new to this show and was not surprised that they stuck me way, way back on the very last row, only one from the end.  I was nearly in a corner but there was nothing I could do about it.

Set up was early in the morning, a good thing, but the weather was dismal.  Cold, damp, misting rain with wind that cut through all my layers.  Okay, I only had one thin jacket but it was enough.  I hate wearing lots of clothes.

Set-up went well and we decided to install inventory since security was provided and there were a number of RV's directly behind us.  We figured the artists staying there would be keeping an eye out so we felt safe.  And we were.

We arrived early on Saturday morning and so did the crowd.  I was happy to make my first sale before I even had my ducks in a row and the whole day was busy.  Apparently my spot was not as bad as I thought it was.  I did have people tell me they wish I had been closer to the front though since they'd already made their purchases by the time they made it to my row.

I will say there was a whole lot of talent at this show.  The jury got it right.  I didn't see one artist that didn't deserve to be there.  And that's exactly the way juried art shows should be.

I actually ended up loving my location with the exception of one thing.  As I mentioned, there were RV's parked in a lot right behind me.  One in particular ran a very loud generator and the noise nearly drove me insane.  I have a problem with certain loud noises.  I have no way to tune it out.  For me, it keeps me from concentrating and I tend to focus on that particular noise so it was a challenge for me to keep my sanity.

However...

I will definitely apply again next year!  Like I said, it was an awesome show!  And if I get in again, I'll no longer be a newbie and maybe, just maybe, they'll put me closer to the front.
