They Eat Better Than We Do

Currently, we have three "Fluffs" who are very loved and spoiled.

Phoebe Trixibell just turned 13 and is a Maltese who is on the large side of the breed.  She is not a picky eater.

Dylan, also a Maltese is 3 and a half and he is extremely picky.  In fact, the reason we have our third Maltese is because of him.  When we brought him home at 14 weeks old, he would barely eat.  We thought having a friend might cheer him up so three weeks later, we drove 6 hours to get his half brother who we named Jameson.  Jamey is 5 months older than Dilly but is far more baby-ish.  They weigh about 5 pounds each.

So here we are, all these years later and now we have TWO picky Littles.  They'll eventually eat but it takes a long time and Phoebe Trixibell tries her hardest to help them out, which is why she's on the large side of the breed...

I decided they might be more receptive to home-made food.  First I checked out three brands that will deliver to your door for the low, low price of just over $300 per month in our case.  And since I'm learning to cook now anyway, how hard would it be to cook for them too?

After much research, I gathered what I needed and for the next 3.5 hours, I cut chicken thighs, gizzards and livers in tiny little pieces, cut spinach and apples and carrots tiny as well.  I carefully measured supplements and oils and made a huge pot of white rice.

I was temped to serve some up to Mark.  But nope, this was going to have to last for a long time because I swear it was a whole lot of work.  Maybe I'll get faster with the next batch.  One thing is for sure, they ate their supper in record time.
