Trucks
When I was girl of sweet 16, I begged and begged and begged my Daddy for a Subaru Brat. I'm not sure why I wanted one. Maybe it's what I most identified with, LOL. I might have been a bit of a brat but I was never a tom boy. Or maybe I just like trucks...
Needless to say, I didn't get one...
Until...
49 short years later!
Brats were long gone by then but I'd fallen in love with 2021's redesigned Honda Ridgeline.
Because of Covid, all vehicles, new and used, are very hard to find. But sometimes I'm a relentless brat and would not rest until I had one in my sights.
First in Ocala, then in Jacksonville, both used but with low mileage and all the bells and whistles.
Then one afternoon I came across one just as nice in Enterprise, Alabama. The nice salesman told me he'd see me in the morning. Then their website listed a spanking brand new one and the brat in me got back on the phone.
When we rolled up at opening time the next day, 2.5 hours from our town, they had the used one and the new one parked side by side. The new one was less than 5k more than the used one. There was no question which one would be mine.
I got them to knock $500 off and throw in a $1,200 tonneau cover and all the way home, I kept wondering about how I could have backward facing jumper seats installed on top of that tonneau...
Brat.
