Mandarin

The Mandarin Art Show is always on Easter weekend.  I like this because none of my other shows schedule on Easter.  So, I'll never have to decide which one I'm going to do.  And this is a good one.  I don't ever want to give it up!

Saturday was absolutely wonderful.  The crowd showed up and the weather was great.  We were hoping for a repeat today.

The Eye Has It

Why why why does my eye eye eye decide to do this today?

Mr. MoonDog and I are on our way to Jacksonville for the Mandarin Art Festival.  I think I broke a blood vessel in my eye because LOOK AT IT!  Oh my goodness, people will think I have pinkeye and they will stay far away from my booth!

Should I post a sign?

I DO NOT HAVE PINKEYE

I HAVE REDEYE

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

Of course I forgot my sunglasses so I'll have to pick some up along the way.

Ballyhoo

Two years later, I finally made it!  The first time I tried to exhibit at Ballyhoo, I broke my arm the night before the show.  Here's a blog I wrote about it but it's a little cray because I was very high on my painkillers at the time.  Oh $h!t

This year, however, I made sure I showed up full of calcium and bubble wrap!

This event is in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama.  The weather was perfect and the show was perfectly organized and very well attended.

I sold all my Bombay Heartbreakers AND I won an award!

Sinkhole

Today we went to see the lot we have under contract.  The winter stole the green from the grass but that's okay, it'll be back soon enough.  My niece, my sister, brother-in-law, brother and sister-in law came too.  Right away, if not for that very reason, I knew we had made the right choice.

The golf course itself has been purchased by the County.  They have a nearly 5 million dollar grant to renovate the course and will be sending all the county's wastewater here for irrigation.  You can read about it here.

FORE

A few months back my husband starting talking about selling our home and leaving our town.  I had never considered this, ever, and I was blown away when he brought it up.

We've lived in our neighborhood since 1999, raised our sons in this house.

Bombay Heartbreaker

January got here mighty quick!  One of the things I'm hoping to do in 2022 is grow my line of pieces made from discarded bottles.  I've had a bit of trouble getting glass since Covid and while things are mostly back on track now, I have to admit there's something fascinating about using glass that was purchased for what was inside it.

For Sale

So tonight my work friends celebrated the retirement of my dear friend Lourdes.  After a nice happy hour at the office,  we headed to Publix to their cooking school to make Gingerbread houses.  Much wine later, this was my house which lacked siding and remained totally unfinished on its backside.   But the important elements are there.   A clear path to the front door, a strong brick chimney and a loyal canine with toothpick legs who braves the frigid weather and pees in the snow instead of on the carpet in the living room.

Under the Stars

We've never done this show in Maitland called Under the Stars and I was one of the new girls in town.  Friday night until 10:00, Saturday until 9:00 pm and then all day on Sunday.  I thought Mr. MoonDog was going to kill me for signing us up for such an intense show, what with the extremely hard setup and long, long hours.

Then I won an award.

I am still shocked.

Fall in Destin

Every Fall, I look forward to the Mattie Kelly Festival of the Arts.  It's one of my favorite shows and Destin is one of my very favorite places.  This year, I was happy that things were getting back to normal.  Shows were happening, people were getting out, my broken arm was healed, and then...

Billboard

When your kid says he wanted to get you a giant birthday card but Hallmark didn't make one big enough, he gets you TWO billboards on CCNE for 24 hours.

This has to be the best birthday surprise I've ever gotten.  No, the best birthday I've ever had.

Thank you Nicholas.
